I can't see what's on the Manage Friends page, but on your Friends page with the posts, it would seem that the large picture jmstrange posted might be causing the problem. Everything posted before that looks fine. It's temporary, and once that picture drops off to another page, it'll straighten itself out. Some styles and formats handle things differently. My old style got toasted just about every time someone posted a picture or a meme. Hope that helps.
No, I don't think it's that... chaosdruid's post is up above where my posts should start. And certain chuncks of my friends posts are okay and other aren't. It's like a hit and miss thing. I guess I can change my set up and see if that fixes the problem, but I kinda liked my current set up...
Some styles are built using HTML tables for layout, and when somebody jacks up the HTML format in their own post, they can blow up your entire friends page (suddenly Moods & Song are above the entry instead of below, the descending column of nice neat entries gets jacked sideways and diagonal)...the fun never stops, until the offending entry drops off the page.
Other, newer styles are built on CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), which tell the page how to act without using HTML, and thus aren't quite prone to the same jackassery. Usually. I don't know which ones are which, yet, unfortunately...
Try a filter of your friends page that doesn't include your regular friends, like just Communities, and see if it soes the same thing. If so, it's a problem with someone's entry. If not, then it's something more basic to your style, but I'd doubt that, as you'd have x% of LJ complaining every day...
Yeah, if someone messes up a bold tag, it can make everything past that bad tag bold. I see it sometimes when people poorly cut & paste memes. When people play with HTML fonts it can cause all sorts of discontent. ;-)
